Blood Orange Sour

This fantastic drink tastes like sherbet – and as someone who always reached for the Sherbet Dabs as a child, I love it! It's the perfect balance of sweet and sour, with a kick.

If you're making this for a non-drinker, simply omit the alcohol and add more juice.

SERVES:

Ingredients

For the cocktail

150ml gin or vodka

Juice of 2 blood oranges, and the zest of half

Juice of 2 lemons

75ml sugar syrup

100ml aquafaba

To serve

2 slices blood orange

Few dashes Angostura bitters

Instructions

  1. Half fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add the cocktail ingredients, and shake vigorously for a few minutes to froth up.
  2. Strain into two glasses through a sieve or cocktail strainer.
  3. Top each glass with a slice of blood orange and a few dashes of bitters.
