Sweet

Raw Cashew and Cacao Bliss Balls

Bliss balls come in many different flavours, this is a classic recipe. They are raw, gluten free and vegan. They are a great healthy alternative when you are craving something sweet but be warned they are highly addictive.

SERVES:
12-14 Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 heaped cup of cashew nuts
  • ½ cup desiccated coconut
  • 10 medjool dates
  • 2 tb ground flaxseed
  • 2tbs raw cacao
  • 1-2tbs maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients except the maple syrup and desiccated coconut into a food processor and blitz until you have a crumbly texture.
  2. Slowly add the maple whilst the processor is going until the mixture comes together. Depending on how gooey your dates are will depend on how much maple you will need. It should be quite smooth but not too sticky.
  3. Place the coconut onto a small plate. Roll the mixture into walnut sized balls and roll in the coconut.
  4. Place on a plate or bowl and refrigerate for hour to firm up.
  5. You can eat immediately, as I often do and I also tend to keep the in the fridge even after they have firmed up.

They will keep well for a good week, if they last that long!
